The AI software combines human comprehension and machine learning. Machine learning, in conjunction with Artificial Intelligence, enables the paper grader to automatically assign grades to papers. The software learns to mimic the grading process used by humans when grading papers. The graded papers provide information that begins the learning process. To make essay grading easier, teachers now use paper grading tools and plagiarism detection software.ĪI software can learn from the data that is available. Teachers can use online tools to track grammar and syntax issues with minimal effort. That is changing due to artificial intelligence. However, when it comes to essays, teachers have difficulty grading students’ essays, necessitating the use of online tools and software for essay grading. They have typically used Excel sheets to track a student’s progress and add test scores and paper grades. Most teachers have always graded based on data. Many teachers rely on test grader apps to speed up the scoring process to handle the corresponding high volume of paper grading. In determining how well students are absorbing classroom instruction, responsive learning environments typically include frequent formative assessments. For their educational institution to remain relevant, educational leaders must adopt an action-oriented mindset. We observed that the essay evaluation is not done based on the relevance of the content and coherence.For educational leaders in the age of AI, the most powerful weapon for unexpected, rapid change is a radical shift in thinking and action. We studied the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques used to evaluate automatic essay scoring and analyzed the limitations of the current studies and research trends. This paper provides a systematic literature review on automated essay scoring systems. Few researchers focused on Content-based evaluation, while many of them addressed style-based assessment. Many researchers are working on automated essay grading and short answer scoring for the last few decades, but assessing an essay by considering all parameters like the relevance of the content to the prompt, development of ideas, Cohesion, and Coherence is a big challenge till now. Present Computer-based evaluation system works only for multiple-choice questions, but there is no proper evaluation system for grading essays and short answers. This connection online examination system evolved as an alternative tool for pen and paper-based methods. The drawback of manual evaluation is that it is time-consuming, lacks reliability, and many more. As the number of teachers' student ratio is gradually increasing, the manual evaluation process becomes complicated. The present evaluation system is through human assessment. Assessment in the Education system plays a significant role in judging student performance. ![]()
